Oh no, it ain't got nothing to do with different styles of music but more so ambitious yet talented young men often with different values and understanding of the music culture who just want to rule the scene and see anyone else as a threat. The thing is you don't want a scene monopolised, plurality is healthy, and all will prosper from it. This is very relevant to the wider scene because if the scene is ruled by one or a few, and becomes something akin to gangster culture, then it will die. Keep totalitarianism out of techno.
