isn't this why artists perform under multiple pseudonyms?

You could see Afronaught at DEMF and Orin Walters at the Planet E party for instance ...

I did say person attending the party right? Looking at a friends contract it says artists will NOT perform with a certain number of miles of the event or its location for a certain number of days. Doesn't sound like any sharing there. Unless everyone has a seperate contract I think the general concensus would be you can't play anywhere else and there's no sharing of flights. Most of these artist are being brought in specifically for the festival then leave to go home afterwards. I know Motor wasn't happy with some people they brought in playing afterparties during normal times. Maybe it is as you said? Last year there were several people who played afterparties (as mentioned by someone else).

From the standpoint of the consumer it's great but I'm just pointing out a
(any) organizations point of view having booked some people in the past. They would NOT be playing in my city the same weekend of my event.

Having said all that these after parties are cool but I hope we don't go back to normal after everyone leaves. It was pretty dead the following weeks last year.

D&P I couldn't remove you from the Cc, sorry.

I said, "It makes sense to *me*," that is who.

I doubt its is a free ride for anyone doing an after party. I never >said it
was a free ride. For an example: Advent is booked for DEMF and an after
party. He is also probably booked elsewhere in the states as well >during the
month of May. (maybe...maybe not)..anywho I am sure their booking agent
arranged for the other events and everyone SHARED the cost of Cisco's
flight. This year (I am not sure about the past yrs) PCM is only >paying for

makes sense to who? Sure, the person attending the party but if I've >paid
for flights and work visas to bring someone into town to perform you >better
believe I don't want them playing anywhere else at least within a week >of my
event. It seems someone's going to get a free ride and not have to pay
airfare, hotel, visa, etc. to bring someone from overseas or elsewhere.

Where did you hear this? It makes sense to me that some of the artists
play @ the afterparties since they are in town.

I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it for myself...
