im not against an idea like this. id be willing to pitch in at
least $50 if not more if it were required. they could use the cash
upfront for procuring licenses or whatever from the city or down
payments on sound/stage construction.

is to pay your $15 fee in advance. I'm sure if we'd been a bit
quicker on the draw and presented the organizers with a list of
313 members willing to contribute to the cause, kevin or derrick
would be more than willing to accept it. I mean even if there are
only 500 people on the list (and willing friends of) sending 15
bucks each that's a $7500 statement of how dedicated we are to the
event and detroit itself w/o presenting ideas that should be left
to the organizers (such as security and fences). Up that to $20
and we're talking a $10000 show of support from the global 313
community. Though I'm sure that wouldn't make much of a dent in
the overall costs, I think it would let all involved know how
serious this festival is to the global techno community as a
galvanizing force. Also, it would stop all the second guessing and
put those willing to support up to the task, instead of talking
about all the ways we'd b!

Since 5 year olds are not noted for mature judgement and sometimes
aspire to piracy or gunfighting, this is not necessarily a sign of
success. **
