I cant identify with the people on this list that insist, year in and out,
that this be a major point of anxiety. it will either happen or it wont.
detroit has a lot to offer on memorial day weekend, festival or not. so you
spend the weekend at museums and whitecastle, dancing at night at a small
venue, instead of 3 days trying to dash from stage to stage amidst a crowd
of suburban kids who just came for the "party" atmosphere and bass...
we've been lucky to have had 4 chances to experience the festival thusfar.
if you REALLY want it to happen, make it happen. if you cant, and it
doesn't, it wasnt meant to be.
and yes, I realize that some of you have to plan way in advance in order to
make things happen from a logistics standpoint.
hope you're all doing well enough,
-Joe

OK this happens every year. Right or wrong, nothing starts on time. All
problems, funding, doom and gloom, management teams change 4 times,
sponsors drop, etc. etc. Drama. Somehow, something always happens.
Formal and "city approved" or splintered and guerilla-style, you can bet
Detroit will have an electronic music fest that weekend. Now it's in the
bloodstream. "If you come, they will build it." errr, wait a minute...
but you get my point.
I'm not saying this makes things any easier for our trans-atlantic
visitors, but for those of us in the area I'd stop worrying.
