yep, i prefer bad production, wack levels, crappy sounds,
dropouts and surface noise.
im just glad im not the only one!
Interesting here . .
You are identifying a quality of sound that technicaly is
regarded as 'wrong' or 'bad'
I have an inherent interest in these same qualities, which have
lead me to have a much greater appreciation in glitch sounds,
rather than the new sounds of dance music.
I find it difficult to appreciate comments about 'great production'
because so much 'production' is the same as all the other 'greatness'.
Certainly I am looking for the difference, the edge where you can
hear the intentions of the artist as opposed to their efforts in the
studio to make something sound acceptable.
I guess its just honesty I want to listen to, and that starts before
you even make a sound.
