It's the musical equivalent of science fiction and space opera. Techno is Syd Mead and Frank Frazetta and Joe Kubert and Katsuhiro Otomo.


Syd Mead (Blade Runner set design; neo-Batmobiles)
and Otomo (Akira; Steamboy) might be considered 'techno', according to those 
rules;
Frank Frazetta (Vampirella; Molly Hatchet album covers (!!!)) and Joe Kubert (Sgt. Joe Rock; DC Comics) are definitely *not* techno, though.
