. why would someone travel from england or germany to hear photek or planet of the drums? they wouldnt! so they didnt! simple!
I'm certainly in this boat being from the UK. The problem has been there in previous years too (the announcement needs to be earlier so we can make plans for flights etc). This years festival just wasn't as appealing as previous years to me and others with a love for detroit music imo.
I'm not saying that the Euro contingent make up huge numbers but i think having Europeans in attendance is going to add to the buzz of the event.
Maybe if Paxahau do take on next year they can involve more of the musics from Detroit (electro, beatdown house...that kind of thing) and get that announcement up in time for people to make plans. I mean it's not impossible right. I'd love to come to Detroit again.
