for me Luke Slater is to be remembered by his 7th Plain project and his
releases as Planetary Assualt Systems....esp vols.1, 2, 3; the drone sector
and atomic funkster
im not a big fan of loopy techno but his PAS stuff is very hypnotic and
cerebral....like that track "12" on atomic funkster
his stuff and lives as Luke Slater never made much a mark on me....
my 0.2 euros

I remember his early albums being all the rage on the IDM list. Then
he did "Alright On Top" which I guess was his bid for pop stardom. I
found that pretty simplistic and irritating -- it had that 'I reckon I
wouldn't mind some pop stardom' tang to it, and a feeling that he was
deliberately dumbing things down.
The PAS stuff I remember being a rave staple around these parts, and
it's great music for that.
