How much experience do you have with 'real' instruments going funky or things frying in midstream performance?
not a ton, but enough. the things that can go wrong (strings breaking, drumsticks breaking, drum heads breaking, tubes blowing in tube amps, etc) are easily backed up and easily remedied. unless youre rocking an entire backup laptop and controller (which i guess if youre a well paid touring laptop perfomer, you could technically do that), things are not going to be so easy. and come on now, computers are definitely far more problematic than a guitar or amp, in general. tom
