He then sought to justify the use of that phrase by saying: ">sorry, we use that phrase in my local town and its just a communication >style difference. its just an inconsequential phrase." His apparent point being that this was an analogue to the reactions to Laura Gavoor's use of the phrase 'Fad-Faggots' or something similar. mr JB's interpretation of events is that LG's words were excused as some sort of cultural shortcoming or inadequacy in the sense of being able to express oneself in a way that gets the point across without causing offence. I would challenge JB to reiterate any words from myself (I responded to complaints about Ms Gavoor's use of her phrase when these complainants implied that her insults invalidated her entire arguement.) which in anyway excused or condoned what she said. I believe the thread is still available. As for myself, I remember distinctly replying to Tom Robbins/Tom Magic Feet and one other whose name I can't remember, saying: 'Hmmm. [such words] are more than just regrettable. But how does this invalidate what she's saying' or words to a very similar effect. I don't think really there's any comparison to what JB has sought to do. In fact it looks to me that JB is simply using (as so often happens) this incident as a pretext to spit out virulent and deeply rooted insults to Ms Gavoor (who perhaps could have expected that from her use of 'that' phrase) but also of Carl Craig and Juan Atkins, and indirectly of course, anyone else who is dark hued and is to any degree disatisfied with America. JBs contention is that because Juan Atkins and Carl Craig are no longer subject to the most rawest and blatant form of racism of the kind which too many white Americans seem to adore so eternally, they therefore can have no excuse for complaining or otherwise bemoaning their lot. I'd have to agree: I'd also agree that the rest of black America had better shut up complaining too - let alone the rest of the people of colour in Techno. >-----Original Message----- >From: Jayson B.
