I'll never really understand the "DJ/Entertain" thing in techno,
mainly because I don't think it has a place.
As ever, Hawtin is great value as a whipping boy.
But as ever, I can't help but secretly admire the man. I mean he's
f****g excellent at what he does and he also makes some excellent
music
too - often, not always.
I acknowledge how my sometimes faux, sometimes real criticisms, are
rooted in a degreee of jealousy, for sure!
For sure but I love the geekery. We played in Ireland last year and
this guy came so close to us it was unreal, he was straining to see
what was on the screens. So I took his camera and did him some shots
if he'd go away :). Annoyed me but he just wanted to see how it works.
I've seen people watch DJ's on the mixer like that as well. I guess if
you work alone it's the only way to figure things out.
