Okay, now I haven't been asking for any help lately, so don't shoot the messenger. But it is true that some people tell you "use Google" and "RTFM" without bothering to consider your question, when you've already used Google and read the manual. Some people get conditioned to react like that defensively, I don't know. I know you would never say such things in those situations, but there are a few knowledgeable Linux users out there who do. I don't hate them for not having time or energy to guide me, but I really appreciate it when they just ignore me instead of lashing out at me for not knowing something. I haven't followed Rolf's problems, so if he's been a real jerk and it sounds like I'm defending him, then my mistake. > Everything I know about linux, or about the GNU audio apps, I have learned > because I looked for the answers myself. Well me too, although maybe I experienced more desperation than you did. Blame that first guy who told me about the streets paved with gold waiting for me in Linux. Like I said in another post, learning to enjoy spending time learning the specifics made all the difference for me. > I know the feeling of excitement, but you can not blame people that do not > get paid, and certainly not by you to find the information for you. I do Of course not, I thank them for helping/trying every single time. There was probably a time when that wasn't always the case... > I am using Linux EVERY DAY - FOR EVERYTHING. > > Mail, internet, youtube, myspace, office apps, time management, photo > editing, video editing, sound recording, professional mixing and mastering, > watching TV etc. etc. etc. Me too. -Chuckk -- http://www.badmuthahubbard.com _______________________________________________ 64studio-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.64studio.com/mailman/listinfo/64studio-users
