Most of our stuff is in a database and I find it much easier to have the abc
as a separte field, along with other filds like full lyrics, notes on the
song, references to inexes like roud, laws, etc, than to have all the abc in
one (or more) text files.

On the other hand, I quite like the ability to have mulitple abc's in one
text file.  I think Jack Campin's modes is a great example of how it can
work well, even with other non abc text. I tried that one when I had a brief
play with Barfly.

We also use the multiple abcs in a text file on what we have for the Bronson
bits Phil Taylor gave us and possibly in the future would use other abc that
doesn't really fit (e.g. I don't think our song database would require 20
varients of a song) in the song database. Even I found it quite easy to
write a little php script to index the tunes in a text file...
