First of all, please don't generalise things on the statement of just only
one teacher, particularly if you are likely to present the facts/your views
before a public forum, and the timetable allotted to a particular teacher in
a college/university may very considerably.
Secondly, the time you mentioned about the strength of the students is too
old and the circumstances that we have today are very much different from
what you had in your time. Therefore, I strongly urge you to update your
knowledge about certain facts.
In the third place, and also about the gist of this discourse, I think the
VI people, be it in a school or college/university, under all circumstances
must have the privilege to be having a separate room for simply there are
certain special needs/activities which could be facilitated only by having a
separate place, but this should in no way be construed with having a
separate staffroom or a segregated place. I think quite often, we
over-emphasize certain things which are associated with doing something with
the people with vision impairment in the notion of presenting ourselves as
equal with the rest of the society. I can very well justify my statement by
explaining what exactly happens in a staffroom in most of the
school/college/universities, for example in my case only, the kind of noise
that we witness in our staffroom, it is almost impossible to hear anything
with the help of any screen reading software, therefore, one must certainly
have an opportunity for doing things honestly if one wishes to do in a
conducive environment. and, in order to be able to work in such environment,
special people should be given special environment in the same way as we'd
like to argue special people should be equipped with special devices to
enable them to have a better opportunity to be able to give their best
performance. Therefore, demanding a separate place for the people with
visual impairment shouldn't
be considered as an offense.

I am not College teacher and if any fact is wrong, it may be corrected by
college teacher too.
The fact about per day period is based on the statement of one of college
teacher of DU, who is appointee on 2007. The fact about the students'
strength is given on the bases of my college time between 1984-1987.
Regards,
Rakesh.
