in our region, we usually travel by local trains. there the major problem is regarding 2 seats reserved for handicapped. someone will be occupied in that and they won't vacate even if we convince them. one more problem is while traveling in general coaches in night. some people will be sleeping on the seats and they make big quarrels if we wake them as if it is their birth right and they are traveling in sleeper coaches. can such problems be addressed with this service? I just checked and it is working in our region also. but some times they give wrong information. for example, the web site which they give for status checking in the sms, I checked it and no where is an option to check such complaint status. once I wrote "how to use this facility? please give details." they gave the address of IRCTC. but as you know, IRCTC site contains nothing about this SMS service.

just type your complaint or suggestions and send it. nothing to do extra. no syntax is required. i did not use any pre-defined syntax. i just typed "please vacate handicap coach, train no.12855, next station is xxx" if you know the station code will more be specific to serve. in my case and on the very first trial it workd. i can't say whether it will work another cases or not.

where can we find more details as to how to use the service and what are the matters on which we can complain and syntax of the message etc.? I just sent a message "how to use this facility? please explain." they replied "for further details visit IRCTC website." I visited the irctc site and got no information about the service except the railway booking information. also the web site which they refer in their initial message regarding status also contain any provision for checking the status.

hello accessindia!

today i had a good experience with rail complaint system. i was travelling from bilaspur to durg on train no.12855 in handicap coach. the coach was completely packed with non-disabled passengers. only 3-4 disabled passengers were travelling in the coach. i sent message "please vacate handicap coach, train no.12855, next station is byt, bhatapara. as the station arived the force came and till raipur railway station, the coach was vacated. they were shouting to the passengers that they are recieving message rapidly from their head office to vacate the coach.
