Dear Ajay

Well, let us look at this way. If you indeed want to get traffic from both the list then any way you would be getting the same amount of traffic. So one list or two it does not matter.

On the other hand, if you are inclined to keep abrest only in developments on mobile phones or the main list, you can filter out accordingly.

Initially, some folks would do some cross posting amongst both these list, they will iron out eventually.

On a serious note, in the comming days, I expect a lot of traffic on not only discussing accessibility of the phones but also on apps which keeps growing by the day.

I am also a member of Eyes-free list. There is a huge traffic on that list and it is US centric. You hardly get anything useful in our context.

It is natural to resist any change, however, change is reality and happening all the time and we need to adapt accordingly.

Let us not make a fuss about it and keep the spirit of the list going.

Hello!
I too agree with Kanchan mam and Amiyo sir. Kanchan mam has put some
really nice arguments and it's true that it becomes immense difficult
for a moderate user to follow two lists instead of a single one.
Though I am among those 75 people who have subscribed to this new
mailing list but Only to increase my knowledge. And it
's also true that I didn't find anybuddy who had similar thoughts as I
had. But now I have both of you so I am also encouraged to write my
viewes and I am totally against this idea of partitioning our
favourite mailing lis. I don't want to hert anybuddy but these are my
personal views.
regards

Hi Kanchan

Well, well, Mobile phones, tabs would be within the scope of the
mobile.access list.
Maybe it be the Symbian, Iphone,Android, Blackberry or the new Windows
mobile operating system.

As Symbian is on the path to bid adieu, migrating to the other operating
system possesses some special challenges. Some learning and some unlearning

to be done. As a result, considerable traffic is expected in the process.

For those who still want to distance themselves from the inevitable, there
is no need to load them for it. This is the background behind this move.

The new list is archived from day one,and one can catch up at any point.
Just to see what is happening there, one can go to the archive site and have

a look without actually joining it.
The URL is:
http://mail.accessindia.org.in/mailman/listinfo/mobile.accessindia_accessindia.org.in

I suppose this way you can be abreast with what is happening without getting

into the details.

I agree with Amiyo da on this issue. I think one list was better than 2.
If a mobile device user wanted further help he could have gone to a
specific mailing list for his device. I do think the creation of a list
for this topic is too premature and unnecessary.
I am sure the moderator has thought about it in great detail however I do

think he has been illadvised. I would like to bring to his attention that

this Diwali we have had atleast 20 messages which will require his
moderation and this is the cause of excess mails not the discussion on C5

or jellybean.

People like me who are moderate users of gadgets learn a lot from just
reading about technology and reading others opinion. I am definitely not
looking forward to subscribing to another list.

Would someone tell me whether my netbook can be considered a mobile device

or not.
I can carry it anywhere so isnt it mobile?
So dear moderator should I take my problems of desktop to this list and my

netbook to the new list.
Or are you assuming that mobile actually means only cellphone.
Lets go further, where should I take my problems about Victor? Should I go

to the new list or should I stay with the old or should I only go to Human

Ware.

In these days of convergence when anything can be done on anything are we

a little out of date, I wonder.

I have always preferred this list for all my queries. It is very difficult

to read mails from two lists. Moreover, accessindia was some kind of
cure-all for all problems for me.

Friends

It gives me pleasure in inviting you to the dedicated list for
discussing issues relating to all mobile devices including Android,
Iphones, Symbian etc.

This also includes mobile phones and Tabs on these platform.

We thought it necessary to have a dedicated sister list of AccessIndia

as issues relating to mobile devices were grabbing a lot of time and
space.
The moderator of the list shall be Aruni Sharma and myself.

Membership to this list is not automatic and separate membership
request has to be made. It is independent of the AccessIndia list.

Please note, consequent to this, topics relating to mobile devices
shall be out of scope of AccessIndia list and all such mails shall be
considered off-topic.

To join the mobile device list, please visit the URL given below and
register there:
http://mail.accessindia.org.in/mailman/listinfo/mobile.accessindia_accessindia.org.in

The general guidelines of AccessIndia shall also apply here as well.
Wishing you all a very happy divali and a happy mobile experience.
