Comment 78 and comment 79 didn't fix the issue for me. I used to be using 
Gentoo and adding acpi_irq_balance did fix the issues for me, but for some 
reason it is no longer working in Ubuntu. This is on the Inspiron 5150. Has 
anyone recently got the /proc/acpi/events to generate events?
