MOM v2 is going to be very graphical. Much better then v1 or even NetIQ. Yeah, Microsoft "boroughed" the functionality of NetIQ software and made it pretty. We are going to wait for v2 to come out, hopefully soon. Currently we are using Nagios (running Linux) on our Windows Servers. It free and does some basic monitoring.
