For the USB ports that mount on PC motherboards, they're usually made as two
connectors in a single block. I've run into a few boards where it seemed that
the designers misunderstood the power specifications to be 500ma per *pair* of
ports. Couldn't run any external device aside from mice and keyboards without
one of those "double tap" cables.
