Hi Ask!

Can you give me static HTML hosting for http://perl-begin.berlios.de/ on
perl.org?

Moreover, I'd like it to gain a more official status:

1. http://begin.perl.org/

2. Link from the pages of perl.org.

3. Etc.

It is currently much better than learn.perl.org and also has a public
Subversion repository, which learn.perl.org lacks. Perl-Begin was designed
with marketing in mind:

http://www.sparkthis.com/2006/02/slides_the_hack.html

Which l.p.o currently heavily lacks, not to mention that l.p.o:

1. Lacks essential information like links to online tutorials, IRC channels,
etc.

2. One cannot effectively contribute it. (I offered my help to revamp it, but
BDFOY said I couldn't).

3. Has an overloaded front with nothing but a list of books.

---------------

In any case the purpose of this email is not to criticise learn.perl.org but
rather to point that Perl-Begin is a labour of love and that it should gain a
more official status, partially because l.p.o is inadequate, and cannot be
effectively fixed by an enthusiastic contributor (which is the case for
Perl-Begin).

Regards,

        Shlomi Fish

one thing, and everything else says something else - E-mail will conquer.
