I hope it's clear that I wasn't serious with the last two messages by the way.

I'm pretty sick of the conspiracy theories at this point.
        The only
"evidence" anyone has pointed me at so far is nut-case
        bloggers.  You're
implying that the quarantine could have been perfect except they
intentionally let some people out who were destined to specific
        countries.  That's not realistic.

Quarantines always leak and the leak gets bigger over time.
        You let
somebody out because they're important or necessary to have
        outside the
quarantine, then they want to get their family and friends
        out, so they
pull strings or sneak them out.  That's the early leaks.  Nobody
realistically encircles the whole province, so it's only
        effective until
people decide not to stay anymore. That's where the leak gets
        bigger.  A
quarantine is a best effort.  It's also understood that
        bureaucrats in
China are not adverse to taking bribes (I'm sure some of ours
        do too).
"Closing a border" is only going to work when people actually
        are
willing to comply with the order not to cross.

So to think a quarantine in Wuhan was going to be perfect
        except for
when they wanted it to be is not realistic.  As a parallel
        incident,
even the actual fascist gestapo couldn't keep all the Jews in
        Germany.

You haven't gone as far as to claim that the Chinese created
        the virus,
but in case you were wondering: actual subject matter experts
        have been
quite clear that this is a natural mutation of an existing
        virus.  How
they know that is beyond my ken, but I'm more inclined to
        believe them
than to believe randos on the Internet.

There's nobody to blame for this.  The Chinese didn't create
        the virus
in a lab.  The Chinese didn't attack us with a virus. Until
        you see
some credible evidence to the contrary I would appreciate not
        hearing
more about it.  It might give you a direction in which to
        channel your
frustrations, but it adds nothing useful to the discussion
        and provides
        no solutions.
