We made a stand from unistrut and pipe. Adjustable for different size
spools ...from LMR 400 to large Heliax spools. We used earth anchors to keep
it from falling. We also had wooden ones for 1000 ft rolls of guyed
wire...electrical houses carry the attachments and bracelets for C channel/
unistrut

Any suggestions for a cable reel stand for spooling cable/coax out on
a tower run? Our improvised methods need updating, and my google-fu
is weak and I'm only finding either junk or stuff that's waaaaay too
expensive. Think a pair of jack stands with a rod between them but
nicer and with less falling over.

All parts should go together without forcing. You must remember that the
parts you are reassembling were disassembled by you. Therefore, if you can't
get them together again, there must be a reason. By all means, do not use a
hammer. -- IBM maintenance manual, 1925
