There are usually only 2 types of NonPen's that we use, either a 6' mast sturdy enough to put a reflector dish on (Flat roof that has a 4' kneewall around the roof, very common in our area) or something in the 20-30' range. We don't usually have a need for something in between.

Definitely have the need to slightly level the mount in some way.

It would also be really cool to come up with a way to get ballast to the roof. Maybe a smaller and lighter version of one of these that only needs to do 40 or 50lb at a time. http://www.garlockequip.com/garlock-hand-power-hoist-300-lb/ Run a Garden hose up to fill up some plastic water tanks for the ballast. Obviously, this would only be used when you need to lift more than like 10 blocks to the roof. Bonus points if you could hook a drill up to it to make it a powered lift.

There’s already one that tilts, although the mast appears to be a non-standard size if you want to put a reflector dish directly on the top.

Lots of other designs out there including pitched roof mounts that take J-pipes.

So you would want the mast holder to have U bolts? Then you supply your own mast? I looked at the wall brace, I don’t remember what the issue was, probably could not build it for a competitive price. I know I played with the design a bit.

OK...here goes...make the mast holder brace like ones on J arms with degrees on it. Make wide enough to hold different diameter pipe. The screw and bolt serves two purposes... hinge and anti rotation. So now you can tilt mast as needed. The yoke will be wide enough to accommodate different size pipe and by using same tightening method but with longer screws you can adjust to position. This will work whether support base is traditional or hinged. Easy enough to make telescoping arms if you have a machine shop. I waive my consulting fee for the good of the list. BTW..hey Chuck... you ever make that wall brace idea I sent you?

I get constantly asked to do a non penetrating mount. I have
always resisted because there are a ton of them out there
already. But I get almost daily searches for this term on my

If I did one, I would like to have some feature or quality that
differentiates it from the rest. Perhaps a unit that can be
locked or hinged for flat or peak mounts.
Maybe one with hinged legs that give it a wider footprint using
greater leverage so you don’t need as many concrete blocks.
    I dunno, any ideas?
