I tend to like seeing other people's perspective. As long as things stay
civil, I've got no problem with it.
We did have a rule (as much as this list has rules) that we could post
things outside of the general wireless/networking realm with the prefix
"OT:". I know I've broken that rule, so this is a bit of a mea culpa.
However, if we could stick with that, it's easy to filter out the
politics, etc. when you've had enough of it, or don't have the time.

It seems politics is consuming a lot of chatter on the list. I
personally enjoy it, I have thick skin, per another thread, but I am
concerned it could turn south. This is the only industry mechanism I
have for quick and dirty advice so I am fearful it could devolve into
something ugly or useless like dslreports.
When Chuck ran the list there was a bit more policing, stay away from
religion or politics. I assume others got the offlist spankings I got.
I'm not bashing the current list owner, I enjoy the occasional freedom
to rant.
What I am fearful of is losing the best resource I have for a vendor
neutral discussion of on topic issues.
I'm not asking that the off topic political discussion stop, or any
other off topic discussion for that matter, I do request however that
everybody come to a consensus that we are all adults with different
backgrounds and opinions who can disagree and still work together
effectively.
This is solely a self serving request as I an very much incompetent
for my position and rely heavily on advice from this list to impress
my boss so he continues to give me a paycheck he could probably pay a
comatose midget who only wakes up long enough to swear to do the same
level of work.
