The ai-enabled architecture and mathematical models now exist. As a proposal, let "now = present", "future" as a probabilistic destination state within a "now-state-cycle" and past as the related originating state for the "now-state-cycle" metric. Collectively, an n-functional cycle. A universal clock schema could be adopted per system to keep track of cycles. Thus, "time" states remain coherent within interactive state sync and task transitions while representing as an instance of systemic oneness within relevant, cyclical system time. The challenges emerges when the system invariably scales to billions and trillions of cycles. In that case, it's still a "time" issue in that neural pruning schemas may be applied within an evolutionary model.
