I don't like this change also but it seems that there was some common sense to
apply it.

I don't think that we should make it an option. Either - or.

I still would opt for the previous behavior. The use case in Calc could be
handled differently: enable the save button also if View Settings have changed
but don't change the "modified" state so that you still can close the document
without being asked. Or - in case you want the warning - set the modified flag
even in case "only" a view setting is changed.
