Well, it's hard to argue against "many silent users that dislike the current
behavior". Because they are silent. :-)
I don't think that this would lead to anything.

My personal preference is not very interesting.
I'm pretty sure that this *will* create problems for others but I don't have a
proof for that and as I don't want to use the "argument" of silent users I will
stop argueing against that.

So be it. 

Of course for 3.0 only in case the QA will accept this UI change after code
freeze for 3.0 Beta (as the CWS containing this code change was rejected today
because of a regression caused by one of the other patches integrated into it).
IMHO that shouldn't be a problem - but you never know ...

Oh, and I don't want to have an option for this, we already have enough of them.
If this is the right thing to do it because that's what Excel does, why should
we have an option to switch it off? :-)
