I’ve replaced the antenna on both my TeleMetrum and TeleGPS with a connector just like that. With all ground tabs soldered as well as the center conductor, the connection is quite strong. I made a couple of wire antennas and also bought a couple of 70cm signal sticks which I really like. They can get bent, twisted, etc and they will spring back to straight. The signal sticks are especially handy with the TeleGPS which I sometimes mount in a 3D printed case and attach right to the shock cord in rockets that don’t have an AV Bay. I got really frustrated when I had an antenna break while prepping a rocket for flight and couldn’t do anything to fix it at the field so the connectors went on. Although it is slightly more bulky, I actually wish they just sold them this way.
