Thanks a bunch, both of you. I didn’t know about the openGD77 - that’s really 
cool.

I found some people online who fox hunt with their Yaesu FT-65R, so that’s 
another contender. The FT-65R, FT-4XR and the GD77 are all roughly the same 
price and way cheaper than I expected to be able to get by with. That means I 
can spend more money on rocket motors & electronics, right!?

Once I get one & test it, I’ll pass along what I learned.
