Sorry for the lack of info on this.

1- When I said amcheck tells me "getting info", i meant amstatus.

2- I am using amanda 2.4.2p1

3- The filesystem is ufs.

4- How would I find the version of dump that I am using? It would be again
whatever bsd4.2 comes with.

5- logs note:sd0a is 50mb. sd0h is 51gb with approx 8gb used

The other odditty is i have dtimeout set for 10000 in amanda.conf. Why
would the estimate be only 45min??

Thanks

Huh? Amcheck doesn't issue that kind of message. Could you post exactly
what you did and what it said back?

What version of Amanda are you using? What version of dump? What file
of file system?

Take a look at /tmp/amanda/sendsize*debug and see if it has any clues.
