Personally, I think the unmanaged in-app purchase would be ideal for a subscription service for my app. I'll have to do a lot of work to get this going but I'll finally have something to offer the nearly 800,000 users who have my app on their device. Sure, there are going to be pitfalls and also bugs but I see this as very positive development for Android.
