I've tried getting access to the new packages on my 2007.12 based
Angstrom on a HX4700 yesterday night. Here is what I did (use at your
own risk, with a backup!):
- Modify /etc/ipkg/*conf so that they contain a line to the 2007 as well
as to the 2008 feeds
- ipkg update
- Run the script posted here earlier that upgrades only packages that
are not kernel modules and do not depend on kernel modules
- Install new packages ... interestingly, gpe-edit was availabe w/o
problems, gpe-beam and gpe-filemanager are not.
If would be great to have a statement from the Angstrom maintainers
about how stable the packages in the 2008 feeds are ... and if there is
an "official" way to install them.
