I`d assume that your mileage may vary here a lot with a good chance to
break your system. The 2008 feed bases on the existence of newer
versions of various libraries including glibc and the compiler libs so
mixing both worlds will almost certainly lead to failure.
I installed a 2007 image and then completely switched the feeds to 2008
to see whether upgrade would work.
It did not as GPE and the X server refused to start afterwards.
Additionally 2008 includes some problems with xserver-kdrive on some
devices which are present as bug reports but not yet fixed.
I ended up building my own 2008 images and feed for my specific purpose.
