As Jim points out, fixing the hook into the auth. mechanism is an easy change. But, without a set of pre-written authenticators that can be plugged in, for most folks who aren't C programmers or don't want to learn how to write an HTTP authentication module in Tcl using filters, this doesn't do much good. That's why I still think it's important to understand how people will use these alternate methods of authentication that can be plugged in, so that we can actually develop a few canned procs for people to plug in and use.
