Yes, but I have seen some drives which have switchable termination built-in.
Let me go look at my HD... Well, it only has a small "Made in China" on the back of the case, but I do recall when I bought it, that it was advertised as an Apple (ROM-ed) hard drive. Haven't found the box that it came in (age old refrain: "I know it's around here *somewhere*!").
It's a 1.2 GB. So I guess I need to find my terminator (or buy a new one, if I can find a place that sells them still locally).
Will post later after I have a chance to put a terminator on and try further.
