Those built-in terminals don't always work, and don't always give the
proper termination, so I'd very much suggest trying an external one. I've
had times when only a pass-thru termination plug would work. (SCSI
voodoo.). A ROM'ed Apple drive? This was originally for a Mac then? I
wonder if that might be part of the problem? (I don't know how that might
effect things, since my experience is with generic SCSI drives.)
