I loved the movie and the music. There wasn't any situation for a Pyar Kiya toh Darna kya kind of song . Ultimately the film was a love story and it was overall well depicted with some flaws here and there which are excused..
The music of JA was one of its strongest points and will continue to remain so, in my opinion. We can all speculate on what AG told ARR or what he didn't. The moot point is it is for them to decide whether it was as per their needs or now. I haven't heard a better melody than Jashn-e-bahaara or In Lamhon Ke daaman me for quite some time now. Sonu in In Lamhon Ke Daaman has excelled himself. Khwaja Mere Khwaja makes me want to go on my knees and pray. Man Mohana had its moments and will have its place in the list of memorable film bhajans. Coming to the lyrics, ARR - Javed Akhtar jodi (Jeans, Sapney, Lagaan, Swades, Jodha Akbar, etc) is right up there with ARR-Gulzar (Dil Se, Guru) & ARR-VM (countless :) ) . ARR-Prasoon Joshi has started off promisingly with RDB. Now that you have made mention of it, let me know switch to Jodha Akbar on my playlist and relive it once again.
