Another good one from the past was when Y2K was occurring and the folks from New Zealand and/or Australia purposely offered to let the rest of the world know if a Y2K problem occurred. I rank this as one of the great gestures in the History of Remedy ARS. It was published on ARSList and the rest of us, to the west, appreciated the gesture. BTW, Swizzle sticks was correct.
