=D8 As far as I am aware, VMWare platforms are considered "partially
suppo=
rted" by BMC

Statements of Direction about virtual support can be found for each
version=
of AR System. Here's the one for AR System 7.5.00:

14-Jan-2009 (Statement of Direction) BMC Atrium CMDB and BMC Remedy IT
Serv=
ice Management Virtual Environment Support
PDF<http://documents.bmc.com/pro=
ducts/documents/83/78/98378/98378.pdf>

The following environments are fully supported:

=D8 VMWare ESX Server

=D8 Sun Microsystems Solaris 10 Zones (Whole Root and Sparse)

=D8 Hewlett Packard=AE HP-UX(tm) Virtual Partitions (vPar)

=D8 IBM=AE AIX(tm) Logical Partitions (LPAR)

As far as I am aware, VMWare platforms are considered "partially

by BMC, and last I spoke with them about it, do not recommend VMWare
for p=
roduction systems because they may not be able to assist with a problem
tha=
t is based in VMWare rather than ARSystem.

However, that being said, an architect I have worked with recently who
know=
s a lot about the underlying architecture of VMWare says that it
wouldn't b=

** Jack,

Fwiw, I see a growing percentage of installations on virtual platforms

How well is it performing? How many users are you supporting? Are you
usi=
ng it for all servers, the database, app or web? Any issues w/ BMC

Doing some homework, thanks for your help.
