Your point that our Council should have seen the problem coming some time ago is a good one.   Asburypark.net has posted a story indicating that the sale price may rise despite an advance payment of $400,000.  Does anyone know exactly what that is about?

Subject: [AsburyPark] Re: Sale of "The Triangle"

I am enjoying the debate surrounding the sale of "The Triangle" and the vote which took place last Wednesday night at the City Council meeting.
I believe that the excuse of not wanting a thirty-five cent tax increase is not a valid reason for voting in favor of the sale of the property in question.  I would suggest that the council would have better served the people of Asbury Park by voting to table the ordinance until the discrepancies brought up by the public were addressed.  Does anyone want a tax increase?  Of course not.  This leads to my next concern which is:  How did we get backed into a corner where we (according to our council) had no choice but to sell this property at the 11th hour in order to avoid a huge tax increase?  I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions.

Happy Holidays to All
