Tommy and others want to turn this into a purely residential town. Tommy points to that specific movement over the entire NJ shore. Last year or so I pointed out the folly in that, which many places are discovering to their own chagrine. If you only have residences what is your only source of revenue? Residential real estate taxes. Absent run away spending, why do you think NJ towns have a never- ending cycle of rising real estate taxes? With a greater mix of commercial uses, you have other sources of revenues and do not have to rely so heavily on residential real estate taxes. Yahoo!
