I think that this is a great idea and would be a great thing for the City. I went to see Tom Gilmore, UEZ, over two years ago regarding this issue as I suggested that the UEZ get Asbury Partners, the Chamber of Commerce/Merchants Guild, and the Board of Education together to champion, fund, get grants, and support this idea for a number of reasons. It would be a selling point for the waterfront area; it would be a selling point for the merchants, and it would afford the City school students the opportunity to get on the net without paying a monthly fee.
I don't believe it went anywhere at that time. I would be interested in supporting the initiation of this concept again as I believe that the above reasons are still valid.
