If you step back and look at what this was, there might be a good
explanation why no City Council member was there.

All I can gather from reports in the Press and the Press Release of
the parties (just going on that) is that Asbury Partners and Madison
Marquette have come to an agreement.

The City has not yet come to an agreement with the two of them to
approve their plans (which would make sense - AP/MM would have to
agree first before presenting it to the council).

If councilmembers were there, it could give the wrong impression -
that all is approved and ready to go. That would be deceptive to
potential investors.

Plus, you know how easy it is for the AP Press to get things wrong.

Probably best for councilmembers to stay away until the John
Hancocks are finished drying.

Hope all goes smoothly. AP/MM made for great fun down the beach
last summer. Should be better this year.

Let's stay out of their way this time and let them build.
