Hi Charlie,

I am not sure what type of locker rooms you are thinking of, but I am
certain that they are not the type that I was thinking of. I really
thought that it was horrible to watch (and I am sure even more
horrible for the parents to experience) a family trying to hide their
children's "private parts" from the public while changing clothes.

It would be a nice thing if next year's tourists had a safe, clean,
and monitored place to clean up and change their clothes; even if
they had to pay a nominal fee, hell - as you claim, they can't do it
in Belmar!

I am also befuddled as to why you seem to think that there
is "nothing to do" on in Asbury Park.

I can count 25 places on the boardwalk that are open today, two more
promised for this coming weekend. That beats the crap out of last
year!

Possibly you are missing the "Human Experience" part of Asbury Park
and maybe you need to look "outside of the box". Asbury Park is more
than a boardwalk.

I'll be the first to tell you that I cannot afford to make a purchase
in every shop; crap, Style Rocket would put me into bankruptcy with
one outfit!

However, part of the entire Asbury Park experience for me is the
people. I suggest that you walk into, or up to, any business and
simply talk to the people working there. You will be surprised at
what you can share and what you will learn. Simple conversation.

If the boardwalk gets boring, step outside of the box and walk around
the city. I had a very enjoyable conversation with two older
gentlemen last year at a house on Sunset Avenue that has since been
razed. They asked me if I was getting good pictures and the
conversation grew into how large the fish might be in Sunset Lake.

Two weeks ago, I met a local man on Grand Avenue, we conversed and I
think we both enjoyed the conversation. I met an elderly couple near
Grand and Cookman two weeks ago who were lost, I had maps in my
pocket which I shared; I got about 4 "Thank You's" for that map!

There is a LOT to do in Asbury Park today. You do not need money do
do it; all you need is a personality (you are covered there) and a
conversation.

Hint: First Saturday - cool street performers and musicians - free!
And a WHOLE lot of people to talk to!

Enjoy your City!

suspect that will happen.  Just like their are public bathrooms on
the souther side of CH open to the public now.  Right before the
beach bar.  I wonder if visitors wondering around even know their
there yet?  They should have a sign somewhere inside CH pointing to
them.

pretty sure their would be more in other rental complexes.  Those
types of locker rooms also promote a different atmosphere for the
board walk.  An atmosphere i'm not so sure MM wants......... ?
Unless the pass picks up on the boardwalk, i don't think it will ever
been that busy.  Even on the hottest summer nights.  There still
seems to be nothing to do.... People who like to walk near the beach
will walk, but people who came to  walk the boardwalk for a good
summer night may leave shortly once they find out theres nothing
there...
