I agree that blacks have had a bad time of it, and I feel that 
things are changing, although too slowly, but (always a but!) I kind 
of wonder about this Restitution issue.  My family has farmed in up 
state NY near Lake George (John Brown was a neighbor for awhile) 
since the late 1740's , (escaping Scotland after most of the family 
was slaughtered by the English at Culloden) as far as I know, they 
never had slaves nor benefited from slave labor, as a matter of fact, 
quite a lot of them fought in the Civil War and a few died (No life 
insurance or death benefits back then).  My wife is/was an Irish 
citizen, her parents came over during the depression to escape 
starvation.  What is our share of this Restitution and how long do we 
pay it!
