from IO::Socket::SSL - BUGS !!!! >Non-blocking and timeouts (which are based on non-blocking) are not supported on Win32, because the underlying IO::Socket::INET does not support non-blocking on this platform.
So this could be a reason for timeouts, if you use SSL and we can do nothing to fix it. But this is not realy a problem. If the connection runs in to a timeout the sender will try again! But never use SSL for your client connnection on Win32! This is only true for the usage of IO..Socket::SSL - the native usage of IO::Socket::INET(6) is working well in non-blocking (for years)!
