We don't know that qmail is rejecting them. Maybe qmail is just /dev/ null the message and does not send anything back.
I would just turn off the feature. Blocking on bare lf is a recipe for blocking many legit mails, even if it is rfc wrong. -- Scott Iphone says hello.
