After just hearing this debate on the php general mailing list (Yes I get the joy of being a PostMaster along with a WebMaster :)) Here's what it comes down to... People can adjust to either top posting or bottom posting or inline posting... Just be consistent or you start sounding like slimy green creatures from Starwars when you try and read the e-mail...
Also... I think (And this is just me) that the reason that top posting happens so much is people are used to writing "Letters" which go through the mail, you don't get a copy of it, and so you have to try and remember the context of stuff... But on a mailing list, people are trying harder to have a disjointed conversation about a problem or issue which gets kind of confusing if you don't have the actual context. Anyway... Just my 2¢ on this, ASSP is great software.. It has stopped more spam coming into my server then anything else I have ever seen... It also blows away what my ISP uses... Which may not be a fair comparison since they have to accept alot more mail from different people then I do :) -- Jason Pruim Raoset Inc.
