Installing v1.4.3.1.01 on Ubuntu 8.10... In 'Info and Stats', 'Perl Modules', 'Tie::RDBM' I see: mysql usage not available
I was unable to install Tie::DBI using the script, apt-get or aptitude, so after downloading the package from http://search.cpan.org/~lds/Tie-DBI-1.02/lib/Tie/DBI.pm and attempting to do a 'make install' I see: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' I am guessing Tie::RDBM and Tie::DBI are related but I question whether I need them. Are they used purely for MySQL logging? Is there a list somewhere that explains what features use which Perl packages so installation work is minimized?
