Ok, yes, I have heard that about the Handytones.  Grandstream has a nice ata 
(HT503) router/ata, but they refuse to release the GPL source and changes 
they use... I'm close to reporting them to gpl-violations.org but we'll see.

allo.com has one too, and cheap!, but I haven't been able to talk to someone 
from there yet.

That's *exactly* what I'm planning; I have a colocated server at the end of my 
DSL provider's pipe which is my asterisk box, and I'd like the house to not 
need anything like that.  I've already got all the follow-me stuff going, the 
home * box is just acting as an ATA anyway.
